Yemen's National Resistance warns of West Coast losses and Taiz siege risk
Sadiq Duwaid, advisor to the National Resistance leader, has characterized recent military developments on Yemen’s West Coast as a “great national loss” that carries regional and international implications. He cautioned against viewing these events merely as a defeat for a specific political faction or military group.
Duwaid emphasized that immediate military attention must shift toward the Taiz governorate. He warned that Houthi militias are attempting to encircle the city and impose a new siege. Describing Taiz as the “beating heart of the republic,” he noted its strategic importance in protecting Lahj and the temporary capital, Aden.
As Houthi forces make field breakthroughs toward Mocha and other strategic coastal sites, Duwaid called for Yemeni forces to activate multiple fronts simultaneously. This strategy aims to relieve pressure on Taiz and prevent the Houthi militia from concentrating its strength on a single axis.
