Yemen's University of Aden and Ministry Boost Women's Education

University of Aden President Prof. Dr. Al‑Khader Nasser Lasoor visited the university's Women’s Center for Humanitarian and Development Studies, reviewing its research programs, capacity‑building activities and partnerships with local and international institutions. He met the center director Dr. Huda Ali Alawi and senior staff, praising the center’s role in advancing gender‑focused research and sustainable development.

Separately, Yemen’s Minister of Technical Education and Vocational Training, Dr. Anwar Al‑Mahri, met with the head of the National Women’s Committee, Dr. Shafiqa Said, in Aden to strengthen cooperation on women’s participation in technical education. The officials agreed to aim for at least 30% female representation in ministry staff, set admission quotas for girls in technical institutes, provide specialised training for girls with disabilities, and create a joint task‑force to monitor implementation and raise public awareness.
