YENİ Parti announces congress schedule and reports 300,000 members

The YENİ Parti has announced its official congress schedule, which is set to begin on August 22. According to Party Spokesperson Zeynel Emre, district elections are planned for September 12, followed by provincial elections on October 18. The goal is to complete all provincial congresses by October 27, after which the Party Assembly will determine the date for the grand convention. Members who join by August 26 will be eligible to vote in these processes.

The party reported significant growth, claiming its membership has surpassed 300,000, including 125,000 members who joined via online registration and committed to paying regular dues. Additionally, the party stated that 236 municipalities have joined its ranks, with a target to reach 300.

In local developments, Mustafa Bıyık, the Mayor of Yomra, has officially joined YENİ Parti along with nine municipal council members from the CHP. Meanwhile, political tensions persist in Menderes following a deputy mayor election that resulted in the municipality shifting to the AK Party, an outcome YENİ Parti officials attribute to specific voting behaviors within the CHP.
