Øygarden explosion leaves one dead and an ambulance worker injured

An ambulance worker has been seriously injured following an explosion and fire in Øygarden. The incident occurred on August 25 at a multi-unit residential building on Foldnes in Straume.

One person died and two others were injured in the blast. The injured ambulance worker, who responded to a welfare check, remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to Helse Bergen. Police are investigating the possibility that the explosion was caused by gas from a propane tank.
