Yıldızlar Holding miners protest unpaid wages, threaten Ankara march
Miners at the Eti Gümüş plant in the Maden district of Elazığ, part of Yıldızlar Holding, have staged a second‑day protest demanding payment of back wages, severance and missing insurance contributions. The workers say they have not received salaries for 13 months and have been placed on unpaid leave, while retirees claim they have not received their pension‑related entitlements.
The union has warned that if their demands are not met by 24 July, the miners will march to Ankara, echoing a similar walk earlier by Doruk Mining employees from the same holding. One protester said, "45 DEGREE HEAT, WE ARE SEEKING OUR RIGHTS," underscoring the harsh conditions faced by the striking workers.
