Yogi Adityanath honors freedom fighter Gulab Singh Lodhi
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to freedom fighter Gulab Singh Lodhi in Lucknow on his 91st martyrdom anniversary, observed as Balidan Diwas. Lodhi, who was born into a farming family in Unnao in 1903, sacrificed his life in August 1935 while attempting to unfurl the national flag at Jhandewala Park in Aminabad, Lucknow.
During the commemorative program, the Chief Minister highlighted the state government's efforts to preserve Lodhi's legacy. To honor his contribution to India's independence movement, the Uttar Pradesh government has named a park, a health center, and a police training college in the Unnao district after him.
