Yogi Adityanath visits flood-affected regions in Chitrakoot and Varanasi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is conducting visits to flood-affected regions in Varanasi and Chitrakoot to review relief and rehabilitation efforts. In Chitrakoot, the Mandakini River has reached unprecedented levels, flooding areas along the Uttar Pradesh-Madhya Pradesh border. The Chief Minister plans to conduct an aerial survey and distribute relief materials to 800 families. Additionally, land allotment certificates will be provided to those rendered homeless, and financial assistance will be issued through the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

In Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been monitoring the situation in his constituency, where the rising Ganga and Varuna rivers have inundated several areas. Local authorities reported that the Ganga has exceeded warning levels, affecting 29 villages and displacing approximately 2,900 people. Relief operations are being conducted on a war footing, with 61 relief camps and community kitchens established to support displaced residents, including women, children, and the elderly.
