Indonesia Police Expand Mobile Driving License Renewal Service to Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Kulonprogo

Indonesia’s traffic police are operating mobile "SIM Keliling" services that allow drivers to renew their licences without visiting a permanent Satpas office. In Yogyakarta (DIY), the Polda DIY and Satpas Polresta set up SIM Corner locations at Jogja City Mall, Ramai Mall, and the Sleman police station, operating from 08:00‑13:00 on Friday, 7 August 2026. The service is limited to renewal of still‑valid SIM A and C licences; expired licences must be processed at a regular Satpas.

In Kulonprogo Regency, the Polres Kulonprogo offers several schemes – SIMMADE (village‑based), Simenor Ngabuburit (evening service), and a public service hall – with hours ranging from 08:00‑13:00 on weekdays to 18:00‑21:00 on Saturdays. Fees follow the national tariff of Rp80,000 for SIM A and Rp75,000 for SIM C.

Jakarta’s Polda Metro Jaya also deployed five mobile booths on Friday, covering East, North, South, Central and West Jakarta, each open from 08:00‑14:00. Required documents include a valid ID, the current licence and copies, health and psychological test certificates. The service again only renews SIM A and C; other classes must be handled at a Satpas.

All locations share the same goal: to reduce queues, improve accessibility, and keep drivers legally compliant.
