Yogyakarta southern coast faces waves up to 4 meters

The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has issued a warning for high waves reaching up to four meters along the southern coast of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY).

Forecasts indicate that the highest waves, ranging between 2.5 and 4 meters, are expected on September 28, 2026. On September 29 and 30, wave heights are predicted to decrease to a moderate range of 1.25 to 2.5 meters.

Feriomex Hutagalung, Head of the Yogyakarta Meteorology Station, has advised tourists to avoid swimming or engaging in activities too close to the shoreline. The public is urged to monitor regular weather updates through official BMKG channels to ensure safety during coastal activities.
