Yonsei University investigates series of sexual assaults by masked intruder

Police are investigating a series of sexual assaults involving a naked man wearing a black mask at Yonsei University's Sinchon campus and nearby hiking trails. The most recent incident occurred around 10:00 PM on August 19 near the university dormitories, where the suspect molested a student before fleeing into a nearby wooded area.

Authorities believe this may be the third occurrence of similar behavior. Previous incidents involving a masked, naked individual were reported on June 12 and July 21 along the Ansan Mountain walking trails. The Seodaemun Police Station is currently analyzing CCTV footage to confirm if the suspect is the same individual in all three cases.

In response to the incidents, Yonsei University has announced several security measures to prevent unauthorized access. These include the temporary closure of the entrance leading from Muak Dormitory 1 to Ansan Mountain, increasing street lighting brightness along walkways, and intensifying campus patrols.
