Yordan Alvarez hits career-high 38th home run

Yordan Alvarez hit his 38th home run of the season, marking a career high and tying him for the American League lead. The solo blast occurred during the Houston Astros' 144th game of the season.

Alvarez is currently chasing Jeff Bagwell’s single-season franchise record of 47 home runs, set in 2000. To surpass this mark, Alvarez needs to hit 10 more home runs during the Astros’ final 18 games. While his early-season production was prolific, his power numbers have slowed recently, with only three home runs recorded in his last 35 games.
