Yotsukaido Station: Two men arrested for voyeurism within five minutes

Two men were arrested for voyeurism at JR Yotsukaido Station in Chiba Prefecture within a five-minute window on September 10.

Takuya Takahashi, a 32-year-old teacher from Funabashi, was apprehended by railway police after allegedly using a smartphone to film a high school girl on a station staircase. Takahashi admitted to the act, citing the thrill of the crime, and police recovered multiple videos from his device.

Just minutes earlier, 34-year-old Kosuke Ono was arrested at the same station's north exit for a similar offense involving a high school girl on an escalator. Ono also admitted to the charges, stating he wanted to be able to view the footage multiple times later.

Authorities noted that Yotsukaido Station has seen at least seven incidents of voyeurism or attempted voyeurism since 2021. Chiba Prefectural Police stated that while they maintain vigilance at high-traffic stations, they were not specifically targeting Yotsukaido Station for increased surveillance on that day.
