Young rider blocks traffic on Greece's Kifisos highway

A young man rode an electric scooter onto the left lane of the Kifisos highway near Renti, heading toward Piraeus. Drivers warningly honked, but the rider climbed onto the central median and became trapped between the three traffic lanes. He called for assistance on his mobile phone, prompting a patrol from the Greek National Police (ELAS) to arrive. Police temporarily halted traffic to extract the rider safely and later issued a fine for violating the prohibition on electric scooters on motorways.

The incident, captured on video by a news camera, highlighted the dangers of using personal electric vehicles on high‑speed roads and resulted in the rider’s removal without injury.
