Youth empowerment initiatives launched in Gabon and Côte d’Ivoire
In Gabon, the Governor of Ngounié province, Francis Oyinamono, officially distributed 200 computers to students and entrepreneurs in Mouila. This initiative is part of the ‘One Young Gabonese, One Computer’ project launched by President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema to improve digital access, support training, and reduce unemployment. The governor emphasized that the equipment should be used responsibly as tools for work and the future rather than being resold.
In Côte d’Ivoire, the Agboville municipal council distributed 50 driver's licenses to local youth as part of a socio-professional integration policy. Initiated by Mayor N’Cho Acho Albert, the program aims to promote employment and improve road safety. The beneficiaries include local youth, waste collectors, motorcycle taxi drivers, and women. Officials noted that increased municipal budgets will allow for the continuation of such empowerment initiatives.
