Youth engagement initiatives launched in Uruguay and Mexico

Governmental youth offices in Uruguay and Mexico are implementing initiatives to increase civic engagement and address the needs of younger generations.

In Uruguay, the Office of Youth held a listening session at Liceo Zanzi. The event focused on gathering experiences and proposals from young people, as well as discussing digital challenges with parents and educators. Topics included privacy, digital violence, artificial intelligence, and online safety, with the goal of using these insights to inform future education, prevention, and legislative policies.

In Morelia, Mexico, the government launched a call for the 2026 Youth Council (Cabildo Juvenil). Through information sessions at institutions like Preparatoria Jefferson Internacional, officials are encouraging students to participate in dialogue and deliberation. The program aims to select 15 participants aged 13 to 29 to present initiatives, proposals, and public policy projects to address community needs.
