Uruguay youth digital technology consultation

Overview

Uruguay has initiated a national consultation process to evaluate the impact of digital technologies on adolescents. This effort includes workshops such as ‘Adolescencias & Pantallas: Hablemos’ to foster dialogue between families and educators, alongside a ‘Tu voz importa’ survey launched by Unicef and the Plataforma Infancia y Adolescencias (PIAs) to gather youth perspectives on social media and online safety.

Building on these efforts, the Uruguayan Office of Youth held listening sessions at Liceo Zanzi to collect proposals regarding digital challenges, including privacy, artificial intelligence, and digital violence. These insights are intended to inform future legislative and educational policies.
