Youth fire brigades in Austria and Germany undergo training
Youth fire brigade members in Austria and Germany are participating in various training programs and skill certifications. In Flachau, Austria, six members of the Feuerwehrjugend Flachau successfully completed the Fire Brigade Youth Performance Badge (FJLA) in Gold. This achievement involved rigorous theoretical and practical examinations covering firefighting, technical operations, and first aid.
In Germany, the Freiwillige Feuerwehr Steyrling organized a summer program for 66 children from the Kirchdorf an der Krems district. The initiative focused on introducing young people to emergency services through hands-on exercises with hydraulic rescue tools, high-pressure hoses, and fire extinguishing drills. Similar youth training activities were reported in Ternitz-Pottschach and Vohenstrauß, emphasizing practical skills such as setting up extinguishing lines and navigating breathing apparatus courses.
