Bloomberg Philanthropies fund supports youth climate projects in Argentina and Ecuador

Municipalities in Argentina and Ecuador are facilitating youth participation in global climate action through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Youth Climate Action Fund.

In Argentina, the cities of Río Grande and Ushuaia are inviting residents aged 15 to 24 to submit environmental projects. These initiatives can focus on areas such as recycling, circular economy, urban gardens, sustainable mobility, and climate change adaptation. Selected projects in Río Grande will receive micro-grants, technical assistance, and implementation support. Ushuaia is offering virtual workshops to help young people transform environmental concerns into concrete proposals aligned with its 2030 Local Climate Action Plan.

In Ecuador, the municipality of Samborondón has extended its deadline to September 25 for the Youth and Climate Action Fund. This program supports projects led by youth aged 15 to 24, providing funding between USD 1,000 and USD 5,000. The initiative aims to address environmental challenges through solutions like water management, green infrastructure, and environmental education, forming part of the Samborondón 2030 sustainable development roadmap.
