Cancún and Villa de Álvarez launch August Youth Month programs

The municipality of Cancún will observe Youth Month throughout August, offering free cultural, sporting and environmental activities coordinated by the Instituto Municipal de la Juventud. Events include film afternoons, a Mexican Sign Language workshop, mural projects, a coffee festival, a social run, the Cun Beat music gathering, the "La Calle y su Cultura" urban art showcase, a visit to the Congress, a beach‑cleaning day and an awards ceremony on International Youth Day (12 August) that will conclude the month on 31 August.

In Villa de Álvarez, Mayor Tey Gutiérrez announced a parallel agenda of conferences, expos, anime, video‑game and hip‑hop events. The program starts on 7 August with the "Foro Juvenil Generaciones que Inspiran 2026" conference, followed by a car show and municipal youth merit award on 12 August, a video‑game football tournament on 13 August, the Festival Zona Joven entrepreneurship fair on 15‑16 August, a hip‑hop battle on 22 August and an anime‑cosplay cultural fair on 28‑30 August.
