Youth Sports Training Programs Launched in Ecuador and Mexico
The provincial government of Tungurahua, Ecuador, together with the University Indoamérica, inaugurated an 80‑hour sports training workshop titled “Estrategias Modernas para el Deporte Formativo.” The program, aimed at coaches, teachers and sports leaders, combines in‑person and virtual sessions to strengthen skills in health, education and social integration for young athletes.
In Tamaulipas, Mexico, athlete Juan Daniel “Juanito” Mascorro began a daily athletics training group for children at the Estadio Marte R. Gómez. Mascorro, a prominent figure in adapted sport for athletes with Down syndrome, teaches fundamentals of track and field and promotes a healthy lifestyle among the youth.
Both initiatives seek to expand participation in sports, develop talent and foster the values of teamwork and inclusion among children and adolescents in their respective regions.
