Youth volunteering programs promote cultural exchange in Ribadavia and Europe

Various youth volunteering initiatives are fostering international cooperation and personal growth through cultural and social engagement. In Ribadavia, Spain, the “Viaxe pola Istoria” cultural and theatrical volunteering camp recently expanded to include international participants from France, Italy, and Mexico.

Organized by the Municipal Youth Information Office (OMIX) and Sustinea, with funding from the Xunta de Galicia, the program allowed volunteers to engage with local history through role-playing activities, museum visits, and community interaction. Participants collaborated on organizing the upcoming Festa da Istoria and engaged in social and environmental cinema discussions.

Separately, the European Solidarity Corps continues to facilitate transformative experiences for volunteers. Participants have reported that these programs serve as catalysts for personal change, offering new perspectives on human connection and community building through service-oriented experiences.
