YouTube integrates Amazon products into Shopping affiliate program
YouTube has integrated Amazon into its Shopping affiliate program, allowing eligible creators in the United States to tag Amazon products directly within Shorts, long-form videos, and livestreams. This update aims to streamline the shopping experience by moving away from traditional description-box links toward native product tagging.
Under this new system, creators can select items from a curated catalog of trending products provided by Amazon. YouTube also offers an auto-tagging feature that uses automated systems to scan recent uploads and attach relevant products. While the ability to tag is currently limited to US-based creators, the product tags themselves will be visible to global audiences. YouTube may implement automatic matching with local merchants to facilitate international purchases.
To participate, creators must be members of both the YouTube Partner Program and the Shopping affiliate program, and they must maintain an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account. Earnings from these sales are processed through AdSense. This partnership is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen YouTube’s e-commerce capabilities and provide more direct revenue streams for digital content creators.
