Nagercoil YouTuber couple robbed of Rs 1 crore in home burglary

Thieves targeted the residence of popular YouTuber couple Madhumitha and Vinoth Kumar in the VIP Garden area of Thammattukonam, near Nagercoil, in Tamil Nadu. The burglary occurred while the family was away on a shopping trip.

According to police reports, the intruders gained entry by using a cutting machine to slice through the rear door frame. Once inside, the burglars forced open a bedroom bureau and a secret locker. The stolen items include a significant amount of gold jewellery—reported variously between 118 and 220 sovereigns (approximately 944 to 1,760 grams)—along with diamonds and cash valued at approximately Rs 1 crore.

Investigators are examining whether the couple’s frequent social media posts and viral reels, which often showcased large quantities of gold, cash, and luxury items, may have alerted the criminals to the valuables in the home. The Rajakkamangalam police have formed a special team, collected fingerprints, and are currently analyzing CCTV footage and mobile tower data to identify the suspects.
