YPF sets Vaca Muerta record with 203 continuous fracturing hours

YPF achieved a new operational milestone in Argentina's Vaca Muerta shale basin by completing 203 hours of uninterrupted hydraulic fracturing—equivalent to eight days and 11 hours—in the Bandurria Sur block between 2 and 11 July. The operation covered 86 fracture stages, was conducted entirely with remote, autonomous technology and monitored from the Real‑Time Intelligence Center (RTIC), and reported zero safety incidents.

CEO Horacio Marín said the achievement brings Vaca Muerta closer to the productivity standards of the United States Permian basin, highlighting the role of innovation, technology and operational excellence in boosting Argentina's oil output and competitiveness.

The record is expected to improve well productivity, lower completion costs and support continued growth in national crude production and export potential.
