Söğüt hosts 745th Ertuğrul Gazi Commemoration and Yörük Festivals

The 745th Ertuğrul Gazi Commemoration and Yörük Festivals were held in the Söğüt district of Bilecik, bringing together Yörük and Turkmen groups from across Turkey and the Turkic world.

High-ranking officials attended the multi-day event, including Justice Minister Akın Gürlek, who emphasized the historical significance of Söğüt as the foundation of the Ottoman Empire. Other notable attendees included BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici, MHP advisor Muhammet Hanefi Macit, and former ministers Mustafa Varank and Fatih Dönmez.

The festivities included cultural performances, parades, and visits to the tomb of Ertuğrul Gazi, the father of Osman Gazi. Local leaders, including Söğüt Mayor Ferhat Durgut and Bilecik Governor Faik Oktay Sözer, highlighted the importance of preserving these ancestral traditions and the spirit of unity for future generations.
