Mayor Deviren emphasized the necessity of regional cooperation between Mudanya, Gemlik, Orhangazi, and İznik to strengthen the international standing of Gemlik olives, particularly in the table olive market, to compete with major producers in Greece, Italy, and Spain. Deputy Mayor Biba reiterated that olive production is essential for local livelihoods and stressed the importance of ensuring producers receive fair economic returns.
