Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA to launch on Nintendo Switch 2

NIS America and Falcom have announced that the action JRPG Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA will be released for the Nintendo Switch 2 on February 25, 2027. This release marks the first time the series will appear on the successor to the original Nintendo Switch.

The new version is expected to feature technical improvements, including a frame rate of up to 120 FPS. It will also support GameShare, a Nintendo Switch 2 feature that allows for co-op play between players, potentially even on different consoles. Additionally, this version will include Spanish language support for the first time.

In the game, players control the hero Adol, who must build a village and survive on a cursed island after a shipwreck. While the game has seen various releases since its 2016 debut on PS Vita, NIS America and Falcom have not yet disclosed the price for the Switch 2 version or whether an upgrade path will be provided for existing owners.
