YSRCP accuses Andhra Pradesh government of dismantling Secretariat system

YSRCP Youth Wing State President and former MLA Jakkampudi Raja has accused the coalition government in Andhra Pradesh of systematically weakening the Village and Ward Secretariat system.

Raja alleged that Chandrababu Naidu dismantled the volunteer system after securing votes with promises of honorariums and is now targeting Secretariat employees. He claimed the current administration is acting out of resentment toward a system established under YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Specific grievances raised include excessive workloads imposed by GO No. 11, which Raja claims forces employees to work holidays and attend late-night video conferences, potentially contributing to health issues such as heart attacks and strokes. He also criticized the police treatment of female employees during protests and noted a significant disparity in employee regularization, stating the previous government regularized approximately 1.15 lakh employees compared to only 4,000 to 5,000 under the current administration. Raja demanded reduced workloads, clear promotion channels, and relief from additional duties such as BLO and pension distribution.
