YSRCP allegations against Andhra Pradesh government

The YSRCP has leveled several allegations of corruption and mismanagement against the TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh.

Initially, the party accused the administration of corruption regarding nutrition schemes for infants, pregnant women, and nursing mothers. Specifically, spokesperson Putta Siva Shankar Reddy alleged that suppliers were providing underweight eggs to Anganwadi centres and that tender rules were being bypassed. The YSRCP also claimed there were scams involving the Balasanjeevani kit and the supply of Balamrutham nutrition powder, involving potential losses of up to Rs 1,200 crore.

Following these claims, the YSRCP shifted its criticism toward government spending on publicity. The party questioned the allocation of Rs 330 crore to Information and Public Relations, specifically targeting a new framework to pay social media influencers to promote government programs. The YSRCP alleged that while influencers could receive up to Rs 1.5 lakh per month, promised welfare such as unemployment allowances remained unpaid. The party further accused the government of using bots to divert funds and suppressing opposition voices on social media.

More recently, YSRCP Youth Wing State President Jakkampudi Raja accused the government of dismantling the Village and Ward Secretariat system. Raja alleged that the administration is targeting Secretariat employees out of resentment toward the system established by the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government. He cited excessive workloads under GO No. 11, demanding relief from holiday work and additional duties such as pension distribution. Raja also highlighted a disparity in employee regularization, noting that while the previous government regularized approximately 1.15 lakh employees, the current administration has only regularized between 4,000 and 5,000.
