YSRCP accuses Andhra Pradesh government of suppressing dissent

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused the Andhra Pradesh government of undermining democratic values and Gandhian principles. During commemorations for Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, YSRCP leaders alleged that the ruling coalition is utilizing a ‘Red Book Constitution’ to suppress dissent and silence questioning voices within the state.

Opposition leaders claimed that various groups, including farmers, students, and women, have faced intimidation and lathi-charges when attempting to raise issues with the government. They also criticized the neglect of programs associated with Gandhi’s concept of Gram Swaraj.

Specific political pressure has been directed at Education Minister Nara Lokesh regarding alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process. Additionally, YSRCP officials have accused the government of using a liquor scam investigation as a diversionary tactic to distract from the DSC recruitment scandal, alleging that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) is being used to harass opposition members and manufacture statements.
