YSRCP alleges attack on MP Midhun Reddy's convoy in Andhra Pradesh

The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) has accused the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) of attacking the convoy of Lok Sabha floor leader and Rajampet MP PV Midhun Reddy in Punganur Municipality. The YSRCP alleges that TDP workers used stones, sticks, and iron rods to vandalize vehicles while the MP was accompanying candidates to file nominations for local body elections.

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy condemned the incident, accusing Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of creating a ‘jungle raj’ in Andhra Pradesh. Jagan alleged that the ruling coalition is misusing police machinery to commit electoral irregularities and intimidate the opposition. He further claimed that the police failed to intervene during the attack and called for the deployment of Central paramilitary forces to ensure free and fair elections.

The YSRCP has urged the State Election Commission to intervene, demanding criminal cases be registered against the attackers and protection be provided to candidates to ensure they can complete the nomination process safely.
