YSRCP demands CBI probe into Andhra Pradesh recruitment scam
The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) is intensifying protests in Andhra Pradesh, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into alleged irregularities in the District Selection Committee (DSC) teacher and sports quota recruitments.
During a demonstration near the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) office in Vijayawada, YSRCP leaders and cadres were reportedly attacked by individuals allegedly belonging to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) who were masquerading as teachers. The YSRCP has also accused the police of using force, including lathi-charges, to disperse peaceful protesters and detaining several party leaders.
YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has called for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, citing a conflict of interest as the son of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Jagan Mohan Reddy stated he intends to meet with the Governor to report the violence and has vowed to continue protests until an impartial investigation is conducted.
