Yucatán Government Gives Free Help to Yucatecan Residents in California

The Instituto para el Desarrollo de la Cultura Maya del Estado de Yucatán (Indemaya) organized free advisory tables in Thousand Oaks and San Bernardino, California, to assist members of the Yucatecan diaspora. Under Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena’s direction, 230 Yucatecan residents received information, orientation and free advice on matters such as dual citizenship, birth‑certificate corrections, CURP, passport procedures and legal issues.

The sessions, led by Indemaya’s director José Feliciano Moo y Can together with staff from the Subdirectorate for Migrant Services, also gathered community feedback from people originating from several municipalities in Yucatán. The institute said the outreach will continue to maintain direct dialogue and support for Yucatán citizens living abroad, reducing the need for travel to Mexico for routine paperwork.
