Yucatán government promotes growth in export industry

The government of Yucatán is collaborating with Index Yucatán to improve conditions for the state's export industry through strategic infrastructure, tax certainty, and local supplier integration. During the 40th anniversary of Index Yucatán, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena highlighted several recent achievements resulting from this coordination.

In terms of fiscal certainty, negotiations with the Tax Administration Service (SAT) led to the homogenization of tax criteria for 14 companies in the Manufacturing, Maquiladora, and Export Services (IMMEX) sector. This action allowed for the recovery of 43 million pesos in previously stalled VAT refunds related to personnel transportation and dining expenses.

Infrastructure projects are also progressing, including the third stage of the modernization and expansion of the Progreso Dry Port and the freight component of the Maya Train, which has reached 66% completion. Additional developments include the Development Poles for Well-being and the Cuxtal II project to expand the Mayakan Energy Gas Pipeline, aimed at increasing natural gas availability for power generation by 2028.
