Yucatán Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena donates 1.8 million pesos to Mexican Red Cross

Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena of Yucatán handed over 1.8 million pesos collected from the 2026 State Fund to the Mexican Red Cross. The donation is intended to strengthen pre‑hospital care, emergency services and rescue operations across the state's 106 municipalities. Accompanying the governor were Wendy Méndez Naal, honorary president of the Yucatán DIF system, and officials highlighted how the funds will support ambulances, timely medical attention and life‑saving actions. The governor also referenced Yucatán's broader health model with IMSS‑Bienestar, aimed at providing free public hospital services and eliminating out‑of‑pocket costs for residents.
