Yucatán health initiatives under Governor Díaz Mena

In late July 2026, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena and the federal government began a free hearing‑aid program in Yucatán, distributing more than 3,000 devices to over 1,600 residents across multiple municipalities. The rollout, coordinated with state and national social‑welfare agencies, also included complementary aids such as lenses, wheelchairs and walking frames.

A week later, the governor donated 1.8 million pesos collected from the 2026 State Fund to the Mexican Red Cross. The funds are earmarked for strengthening pre‑hospital care, emergency services and rescue operations throughout Yucatán’s 106 municipalities, complementing the broader health model that provides free public hospital services.
