Yuji Oda to reflect on Bayside Shakedown legacy in Fuji TV special

Fuji TV will broadcast a special episode of ‘Kono Sekai wa 1-daful’ on September 18, dedicated to the ‘Bayside Shakedown’ (Odoru Daisousasen) franchise. The program, hosted by comedian Koji Higashino and Snow Man’s Shota Watanabe, commemorates the upcoming release of the film ‘Bayside Shakedown: N.E.W. Metropolis o Kakenukero!’

Star Yuji Oda and actress Kayo Noro will join guests including Yuzuru Kawai, Yugo Kochi, and Daisuke Shiba to review ten iconic scenes from the series, which has been running since 1997. The special will feature behind-the-scenes stories from Oda, who expressed a desire to work with actor Toshiro Yanagiya (who plays Shinji Muroi) and the late actor Waku again.

The series is noted for its unique focus on the daily lives and bureaucratic struggles of police officers at the Bayside Precinct, specifically the dynamic between the non-career officer Shunsaku Aoshima and career-track officials.
