Yung Filly granted bail to return to UK pending Australian retrial

Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, a British rapper and media personality known as Yung Filly, has been granted permission by an Australian judge to return to the United Kingdom while awaiting a retrial.

Following a trial in Western Australia, a jury found the 31-year-old guilty of two assault offences but acquitted him of three sexual penetration charges. The jury was unable to reach a verdict on three other counts of sexual penetration, which prosecutors intend to retry. Judge Linda Black granted the application to vary his bail, stating, “It seems to me it is appropriate to return to his home country until he is needed for his retrial.”

The retrial is expected to take place in 2027. Under the revised bail conditions, Barrientos must reach the UK by August 31 and remain there until he returns to Perth 10 days before his next hearing. He is required to surrender his passport within 24 hours of his return to Australia. Additionally, he is prohibited from contacting the complainant or key witnesses and is barred from making any public comments regarding the case.
