Yung Filly granted bail to return to UK pending retrial
Overview
British rapper and YouTuber Yung Filly (Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos) faced ten sexual‑assault charges in the Western Australian District Court following an alleged September 2024 encounter in Perth. During the trial, Barrientos testified that the sexual encounter was consensual, describing the sex as “great” with “grunting and moaning in a good way,” and characterized his biting of the complainant as a “love bite.”
On 29 July 2026, a 12-member jury delivered a mixed verdict: he was acquitted of three counts of sexual penetration without consent, of a choking/strangulation charge, and of one assault count. However, he was found guilty of two counts of assault occasioning bodily harm for bite injuries to the complainant’s neck, cheek, and breast. Jurors could not reach unanimous decisions on three additional rape counts, leaving those charges unresolved.
Following the verdict, prosecutor Danielle Clarke confirmed that the complainant is willing to testify again. On 27 August 2026, Judge Linda Black granted Barrientos permission to return to the United Kingdom while awaiting his retrial, stating, “It seems to me it is appropriate to return to his home country until he is needed for his retrial.”
The retrial regarding the three unresolved sexual penetration charges is expected to take place in 2027. Under revised bail conditions, Barrientos must remain in the UK until he returns to Perth 10 days before his next hearing, at which point he must surrender his passport. He is also prohibited from contacting the complainant or key witnesses and is barred from making public comments regarding the case.
