Yung Filly to face retrial over sexual assault charges in Australia
British rapper and media personality Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, known professionally as Yung Filly, will face a retrial in Australia after a jury failed to reach a verdict on three sexual penetration charges.
The charges stem from a 2024 encounter with a 20-year-old woman following a nightclub appearance in Perth. During an eight-day trial in the West Australian District Court, Barrientos was found guilty of two assault offences related to biting the woman's face and neck, but was acquitted of several other charges, including one involving impeding the victim's breathing.
Prosecutor Danielle Clarke confirmed that the complainant is willing to testify again. The court has not yet set a date for the retrial, and Barrientos remains on bail. Legal teams must now decide if the retrial should be presided over by a new judge and whether it will be heard by a jury or a judge alone.
