Yung Miami releases song addressing estrangement from JT

Rapper Yung Miami has released a new track titled “Dear JT” as part of her debut solo album, Watch Dis!. The song serves as an emotional open letter regarding her fractured friendship and professional partnership with former City Girls bandmate JT.

In an interview with HOT 97, Miami described the recording process as a tearful experience, noting that she felt a need to speak her truth about the public tension and social media arguments that followed the release of their 2023 album, RAW. The track features background vocals from Tiffany Evans and reflects on the duo's rise to fame starting in 2017 and their breakout year in 2018.

Miami indicated that she did not share the song with JT prior to its release and has not yet received a response. She expressed openness to future reconciliation, stating, “If the phone call happens, I’ma answer it, and we’ll go from there.”
