Yusguare authorities investigate death of 18-year-old woman

Authorities in Yusguare, Choluteca, are investigating the death of 18-year-old Ana Jackeline Flores Alvarado, whose body was discovered in a rural community. The young woman was found hanging from a tree on a neighbor's property.

While initial reports and family accounts suggest a possible suicide linked to severe depression and substance abuse following the death of her father years ago, police have noted potential defensive wounds on her wrists. Due to these findings, investigators are not ruling out criminal activity.

The body has been transferred to Tegucigalpa for a medico-legal autopsy and toxicological examinations to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The National Police and the Public Ministry are conducting an ongoing investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.
