Yusril Ihza Mahendra to coordinate Bechi parole with Ministry

Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Correctional Affairs, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, stated he will coordinate with the Ministry of Immigration and Correctional Affairs regarding the parole of Moch Subchi Azal Tsani (Bechi). Bechi, a former convict in a sexual violence case at the Shiddiqiyyah Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, was granted parole on August 20, 2025, following a ministerial decree.

Yusril noted that he was not previously aware of the specific details regarding Bechi's parole, explaining that the technical ministry is responsible for determining eligibility and managing such details. The Directorate General of Corrections confirmed that the parole was granted in accordance with existing laws and regulations, clarifying that it is a conditional release rather than a full discharge.
