Zacatecas authorities investigate explosive attacks and suspect arrest

Authorities in Zacatecas, Mexico, are investigating a series of violent incidents involving explosives. An 18-year-old man, William Ariel “N”, was detained in Villa García after being reported missing. Investigators believe he is a member of the Cártel Jalisco Nueva Generación and suspect he remotely detonated a motorcycle loaded with explosives against a police patrol.

Following his arrest, a vehicle containing explosives was placed in front of the Municipal Police Command in Ojocaliente and detonated remotely. Zacatecas Attorney General Cristian Paul Camacho stated the improvised device was constructed from a metal tube and compressed gunpowder. The explosion resulted in 11 injuries among civilians and security forces, with two individuals reported in serious condition. The blast also caused damage to 13 vehicles and at least 17 nearby buildings.

State and federal authorities are conducting operations in the region to identify further suspects involved in the logistics of the attack.
