Zacatecas government intensifies actions against violence and high-impact crime

The Government of Zacatecas has reported recent security achievements through the State Peace Construction Table, focusing on high-impact crimes and violence prevention. Key actions include the destruction of 75 marijuana plantations and intensified efforts to combat extortion. Authorities also confirmed the detention of a suspected individual linked to violent incidents in Ojocaliente.

Regarding forced displacement, Secretary General of Government Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza addressed INEGI data, noting that 2.2 percent of households in the state reported displacement between October 2020 and October 2025. He clarified that the peak of this phenomenon occurred between 2020 and late 2021, primarily in the communities of Jerez and Valparaíso. Reyes Mugüerza stated that current security measures have facilitated a return rate of nearly 90 percent for families in Jerez.

Public Security Secretary General Arturo Medina Mayoral highlighted ongoing coordinated operations involving the Mexican Army and National Guard to maintain institutional presence through checkpoints and inter-institutional operation bases.
