Zacatlán hosts 84th Gran Feria de la Manzana parade

The 84th edition of the Gran Feria de la Manzana (Great Apple Fair) featured a traditional parade of 40 allegorical floats through the streets of Zacatlán, Puebla. The event, which draws visitors from across the country, included the customary ‘manzanazo’ where apples are shared with the public.

In the community category, Tepeixco took first place with a float representing its natural waterfalls and ecosystem. Atzingo earned second place with a display of the Barranca de los Jilgueros, while Jicolapa secured third place with a colorful tribute to the jicote.

In the association category, SICOM won first place with a float titled ‘Huerto de la vida,’ honoring the goldfinch and local apple orchards. Finca La Concordia Inclusiva received second place for its focus on forest elements and sustainable apple harvesting traditions.
