Zadar General Hospital implements new multifunctional cooking technology
The Zadar General Hospital (OB Zadar) has introduced the iVario Pro XL, a modern multifunctional cooking device designed to enhance meal preparation for patients. The system, valued at 31,185 euros, was funded by the Croatian Ministry of Health.
The device allows for cooking, baking, frying, and pressure cooking within a single unit, reportedly performing tasks up to four times faster while using 40% less energy than conventional equipment. It features a capacity exceeding 150 liters, enabling large-scale food production.
Maja Grandov, head of the Department for Nutrition and Dietetics at OB Zadar, noted that the ergonomic design facilitates the demanding work of kitchen staff. The technology aims to standardize meal quality and preserve the nutritional value of ingredients through precise, programmable cooking processes.
