Zadar General Hospital equipment upgrades

Overview

Zadar General Hospital has implemented new technology in two different departments, both funded by the Croatian Ministry of Health.

In late September, the hospital installed a plasma sterilizer valued at over 132,000 euros. The STERRAD 100NX system uses hydrogen peroxide plasma to process approximately 100 surgical sets daily, specifically targeting heat-sensitive equipment like 3D cameras and flexible endoscopes.

In October, the hospital introduced the iVario Pro XL, a multifunctional cooking device worth 31,185 euros. This equipment is intended to enhance patient meal preparation by allowing for cooking, baking, frying, and pressure cooking in a single unit. Maja Grandov, head of the Department for Nutrition and Dietetics, stated the technology aims to “standardize meal quality and preserve the nutritional value of ingredients” through precise processes.
