A 40-year-old man was arrested in Slatina, Croatia, after allegedly killing his 35-year-old wife, a mother of six, with a sharp object. The suspect was apprehended at the crime scene on Tuesday night.

Following the incident, the Director of Police, Nikola Milina, ordered extraordinary supervision of the Slatina police station. An expert team will investigate the police response, specifically focusing on how officers handled a report made by the victim immediately before the murder. The investigation will also review the police's previous actions regarding the suspect, who had been subject to both criminal and misdemeanor reports in July.

The Bjelovar County State Attorney's Office is conducting the criminal investigation in cooperation with the police. The victim's body was transported to the pathology department of the Virovitica General Hospital.
