Balkan region weather forecast predicts autumn transition
Meteorologists across the Balkan region are forecasting a transition into more dynamic autumn weather, characterized by fluctuating temperatures, morning fog, and strong winds.
In Croatia, the Adriatic coast is expected to experience sunny periods alongside moderate to strong Bura winds, with some areas facing stormy gusts. While coastal temperatures remain relatively mild, inland areas will see cooler mornings and variable cloud cover. In parts of the interior, such as Osijek, temperatures have already dropped significantly in the early hours.
In Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a trend of colder nights and morning frost is emerging. Meteorologist Marko Čubrilo notes that while some areas may see a brief warming period, a significant cold front could bring the first snow to mountain regions around October 20. A potential weather shift is expected toward the end of October, with a possible battle between warm Atlantic currents and cold air from the Norwegian Sea.
Slovenia is also seeing typical autumn patterns with sunny intervals and temperatures ranging between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius, though increased cloudiness and precipitation are expected toward the end of the week.
